katie & caryn// vail, colorado wedding

It seems so trite to call things an “honor” these days. Everyone talks about how “humbled” they are by things (and 99% of the time are using the word wrong, it makes me feel… upset feelings). But I really can only step back in quiet awe when I think of the weekend that Katie and Caryn put together to pledge their lives to one another. In the same place they went on their first date (yes, Katie dragged Caryn up a mountain on a dirt road to the incredible Piney River Ranch for their first date), these beautiful creatures hiked through the woods, stepped into their wedding gowns as I held a blanket up, and promised each other forever as nature reverberated its applause.

Just Tim officiating, our main man Cory doing video, and me on camera during the ceremony, sobbing in the background and trying not to get it on the sound reel. Holy. Shit. This day is ingrained on my heart so deeply.

To be welcomed into our couples’ lives, to be trusted enough to be the only ones there for their vows, is an honor I can’t properly express in a single blog post or Instagram caption. It pierces straight into the core of why this job isn’t just a job for us. We’re champions of marriage and cheerleaders for our couples, but to have them trust us so deeply in return is often more than we feel we deserve. Katie and Caryn, your faith in us and willingness to share this experience together was a highlight of our year. Thank you. May your love win forever, and to echo Caryn’s words to us right back to you:

Knowing you is a blessing.

Ugh. Instagram captions. What the hell?

I've spent countless moments of my life staring at a blank instagram caption box. Try something - delete it. Put a quote in there - delete it. But I had a secret weapon... I'd just hand the phone to my wife. She's is a witty and wise firestorm of a woman and I love her for it. Apparently, so does instagram. Her irreverent, meandering, and poignant-as-hell captions have created a sense of community in our lives so that everywhere we travel, there’s usually someone willing to show us around (not to mention insta alone has literally put thousands of dollars in our bank account). So I made her sit down and explain what goes through her curly little head whenever her thumbs click away at her phone keyboard. Put your email below for her free guide on how to write insta captions that people actually care about and make the whole process (dare we say it) fun.. -Tim

We’re also gonna send you our creative biz tips that have helped us build our businesses from the ground up. We want you to lean into whatever is calling you and turn it into a big grownup brand that serves your community well and puts bread (or noodles… or whatever you’re into really) on the table.
