OKAY. How many times in life does a couple have the style and chutzpah to have their wedding spread out over an entire city, choosing the best and bombest places to be the backdrops for their day? If anyone could pull it off, it’s our girl Eireann Dolan and her new hub Sean Doolittle. Their Bridgeport Art Center wedding was the BUSINESS.
Back up: Eireann and Tim grew up together, laughing all the way about how they had the two most Irish names in the whole city (FYI Tim’s real first name is Padraic. Now you know.). Now she’s become multi-talented and bodacious: halfway through a masters degree, our favorite instagram comedian, outspoken advocate for refugees and the LGBTQ communities, and now… baseball wifey. Sean, who’s like real cute online but extremely handsome in real life, pitches for the Washington Nationals, is a die-hard Star Wars fanatic, you get the picture.
Back to my point: bomb locations. If you’re going to get married in Chicago, here’s a thought: prep time at the Ace Hotel, a photo session at Garfield Park Conservatory, your ceremony at Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic Unity Temple (also five minutes from the house Tim grew up in), and your reception at Bridgeport Art Center. Boom. There’s so much good shit in this city, you might as well take advantage.
Eireann and Sean, your wedding was so stylish that you’d think it’d be the top note (I mean, bridey changed into a lace dress and leopard booties for the reception y’all), but style was secondary to how thoughtful, intentional, and focused on real love and deep relationships this day was. What an honor to be a part of it. (Oh, and we thought it was super cool that an iPhone photo Tim took made it onto ESPN, I think this means we’ve made it in life?). LOVE YOUS.
I’m adding this one to the album I have of Tim killing it on the dance floor with adoring fans looking on.
PS. Yes it’s JR Martinez from Dancing with the Stars, I wanted to take a selfie with him so my mom could freak out but I played it cool.
