Natasha is one of those gals who comes at you with such fierce smarts and get-shit-done-ness that you alllllmost don’t see the sass right away– until she drops a smirky one-liner that will have you laughing for weeks afterwards. When my fellow sassy cynics show up I feel a kindred spirit right away, and working with Natasha to help pull her gorgeous Capitol Hill wedding together was such a damn dream because keeping it real is her middle name.

Yet… her wedding day had her in the feel-parts. I’ve never heard of Natasha being quiet, but in the cab up to see Doug for their first look, she didn’t even sass me (!). Just in her own brew of emotions. If there’s an argument for having a first look, it’s this: letting yourselves exhale together before the big day starts. No need to be all in yo’ head for too long– finding your person on the wedding day feels like you’re a team who can tackle it all together.

Doug is her mellow better half who always has a kind word and gentle smile. Their engagement photos are still one of our favorite sessions of all time. Can’t imagine life without this dream team in it– also, how good in front of the camera are they?! Damn.

Ugh. Instagram captions. What the hell?

I've spent countless moments of my life staring at a blank instagram caption box. Try something - delete it. Put a quote in there - delete it. But I had a secret weapon... I'd just hand the phone to my wife. She's is a witty and wise firestorm of a woman and I love her for it. Apparently, so does instagram. Her irreverent, meandering, and poignant-as-hell captions have created a sense of community in our lives so that everywhere we travel, there’s usually someone willing to show us around (not to mention insta alone has literally put thousands of dollars in our bank account). So I made her sit down and explain what goes through her curly little head whenever her thumbs click away at her phone keyboard. Put your email below for her free guide on how to write insta captions that people actually care about and make the whole process (dare we say it) fun.. -Tim

We’re also gonna send you our creative biz tips that have helped us build our businesses from the ground up. We want you to lean into whatever is calling you and turn it into a big grownup brand that serves your community well and puts bread (or noodles… or whatever you’re into really) on the table.
