FIRST let me get this straight: you can say “Emily” the good old fashioned American way but you have to pronounce “Martin” the way he does and the way Tim and I do when we’re talking amongst ourselves about how much we love them: THE IRISH WAY, “Mairtin.” Oh aye. Don’t say it like a boring American, and maybe pour yourself some whiskey to look at these because we can’t tell you the level of party that having an Irish husband, all his Irish friends, and his big old Irish family will add to your life. Emily probably could tell you, but she’s busy being cute on the dance floor, so scroll on good friends. And Emily and Mairtin, happy one year, ya crazy intercontinental love story. You’re basically the royal family to us.
PS. Guysssss. The dilemma of splitting our time means that whenever we’re in Seattle I feel a little homesick for Chicago, and vice versa. So putting together this little collection of our faves from Emily and Martin’s wedding (which was one year ago this weekend, what is time and how does it work?) made me really miss spending last November in Chicago, even though it was basically frigid rain the entire time and I’m currently sitting in a very comfortable autumnal wonderland in Seattle.
