If we’ve met, you might know that the only reason we ever leave the house is on the OFF CHANCE that someone will saber a champagne bottle near us so we can revel in the abundant glory of living in a modern era where champagne is accessible and we can drink it out of sharded bottles. I’m off-track here but how badass is Chris Horn (our Seattle celebrity idol and sommelier of Purple Cafe) making it happen here? Ok, back to the topic at hand: meandering down to the border of Washington and Oregon to COR Cellars, our dream architecture playground of a winery, for the impeccable wedding of Benjamin and Colleen last autumn. This DAY.
Colleen calls everyone honey. Benjamin makes an award winning jam and credits the MensWear Dog as his style icon (yes we ask every couple this question but this answer in particular is solid gold). They’re friends with one of our most favorite florists in Seattle (and Chris’ wife! Full circle of Seattle icons up in this B!) Keita of Smashing Petals— she also killed the game per yooj. They had pie instead of cake. Everything about this day was money and now we’re trying to convince the architects of COR (goCstudio) to build every home we ever live in from now on; it framed this classy day so perfectly. Stop by Lyle if you’re ever in the Gorge and have a glass of wine there and pretend it’s your house, like we did all day.
Giving a shit about the details of your wedding day does not mean you’re stuffy or overly fussy. You can do it like Colleen and Benjamin did– bring all your talented friends together, have way too much fun with the whole process, and create a day that speaks totally to you without stressing you the hell out. 10/10 would do this day again every weekend.
