It’s not that I’ve been putting off blogging Sonia and Chris’ insane three day Indian wedding in Chicago, I just have SO MUCH TO SAY that I’ve been– ok wait yes I have been putting it off– in favor of trading dog photos with Sonia, texting the bridesmaids about how much I love them, making dinner plans with Sonia’s sister, basically just forcing everyone in this wedding to continue on as if we’ve always known each other, nothing to see here people! Dat’s just HOW THE WEEKEND WENT DOWN.
Sonia and Chris met while they were becoming doctors at UW, and when Chris saw Sonia’s photo on a roster, he pointed her out to his friends: “I’m ending up with HER.” That’s how you do it, folks. Many moons later, these West Coasters-transplanted to Chicago for work- threw the weekend to end all Indian weddings and brought us along for the ride.
Ok. So. Three days of beautiful humans doing beautiful things all around Chicago, where do we begin? How about on night one: the jaago and mehendi, held right in Galerie F in Logan Square.
I was extremely impressed by the dancing, these girls were not, to each his or her own.
Clearly our first night was a banger, tomorrow I’ll share day two– the most beautiful Sikh ceremony followed by drinking grappa out of a shoe.
