Remember when Brittany and Hollis got engaged and we had one of the most profound experiences doing their engagement photos in Sodo? WELL THEY GOT MARRIED. And Tim officiated. And it was just the four of us, in a field near Mt Hood in Oregon, crying and laughing and taking our sweet time all day.
Whenever anyone brings us on to photograph the big parts of their lives, it’s a huge deal for us. But when you include us in the actual ceremony, and invite one of us be the officiant who ushers you into marriage, that is some next level shit. What an honor. So welcome to Hollis and Brittany’s wedding day, in a sweet little cabin just big enough for two.
It was hot that day. Gotta stay hydrated.
Getting ready together is one of the more beautiful things we see couples gravitating toward on their wedding day. Having that peaceful time to chat and pet your dog and see your favorite face before you commit your lives to each other is such a grounding, lovely way to kick off your elopement.
And helping each other get dressed is just the SWEETEST. I mean how beautiful are these two?!?!
We trekked out into a field, found a spot that felt right, waved hello to Mt Hood, and got right to the wedding. I mean, everyone else did, I was very focused on not weeping loudly enough to interrupt the vows.
But they really meant those vows. You can always feel it.
And then, home. Through the dusty haze of the setting sun.
Just in time for a quick outfit change before dinner, and a sweet little windowside cuddle.
The normal, everyday things are the sweetest when you love the one you’re with. Making dinner together is the coolest wedding reception idea we’ve ever heard of.
Hollis and Brittany, you two are beyond our wildest dreams.
