Ok, if we’ve met, you KNOW that I tend to talk a little shit about LA. I just don’t get how anyone can survive in traffic all day every day, I’m not really a “sun” person, and my aesthetic is more “bundled up in greyscale” than “freewheeling blonde” so it’s never felt like the right fit of a city for this moi.
BUT I ATE MY WORDS IN JANUARY. We showed up to Vibiana Los Angeles and I instantly felt like we needed to move to DTLA immediately: the PERFECT art deco themed wedding (the bride’s an architect, what more can you ask for?), the dreamiest team bringing her vision to life, a gaggle of besties and the Vanity Fair cover that stopped time (at least for us, who knows about the actual metaphysical reality of time), and a couple who just wanted to be chill and love each other and be surrounded by beauty. Every detail was so bomb and so old world California, back when movie stars wore silk and smoked cigars, and it made me realize that every city contains multitudes– you just have to find your people.
Jess and Anthony, we’re yours for life.
