The sushi delivery guy was having a normal Saturday until he wandered into Michele’s shoot. He shit his pants, left the spider rolls on the table and scurried out, blushing. Can’t blame him… Michele is every 90s RnB song personified. I’d pay good money to own a room the way this one does (she’s also […]

Getting great photos isn’t about being the most beautiful human or having the perfect ensemble or impeccable makeup (even though Katie and Michael have all of those things in spades). Sure it’s fun to put some extra effort into looking bomb, but what really takes a photoshoot over the top is being in real-deal lurrrve […]

The best part about traveling? Is the food. But the second best? Is learning the fantastic little words in every language that don’t have a real translation into English. Whenever we’re sitting around a dinner table with multiple home countries represented, Tim’s favorite question is about those untranslatable concepts that have to be expanded into […]

Liz and Eric were born in the 1920s, came of age in the 1940s, and have the carefree exuberance of whiskey loving, witty and classic lovebirds oozing from their veins. Only one of those facts is true. I laugh and laugh with these two, and somehow always walk away from them with the feeling that […]

You know those regrets you have from middle school, when you’re a dick to someone for no other reason than you’re 13-years-old and just trying it out to see what it feels like and then later on you get to college and one of the best chicks you know that you’re trying so hard to convince to […]

“We really should have brought drinks to this thing.” Just as our national treasure Mrs Potts in Beauty in the Beast kindly reminds us, it’s a tale as old as time and an established fact: photoshoots are more fun when the wheels are a lil greased. After a bakers dozen of occasions in which we either knocked back tequila […]

I’ll start with this: I have such a profound sense of gratitude for everyone who trusted us behind a camera this year. Whether it was something as large as a wedding or as small as sitting around your kitchen table, you all have entrusted us to capture the moments of your lives. It’s been an honor. […]

Oh hey 2015, you’ve been a hell of a year. This year we learned that nothing happens without something behind the scenes pushing it along. What happens on the other side of the camera usually ends up being funnier, weirder, and more interesting than anything perfected for Instagram. Often it’s just us, scrambling away, trying to make all the […]

Oh Sh!t, the summer ended well. As of September 26, 2015 I’d never been to Nashville, despite loving Dolly Parton and my trusty cowboy boots and beer (not in that order). Based on what my relocated friends in Tennessee are up to, it seems like everyone in the city is in the constant act of […]

I grew up with a man who walked me to the bus stop every morning before school and waited with me in the chilly air. We’d play catch in the pre-dawn light, he’d hear about all my neighbor friends’ favorite boy bands, and he’d kiss me goodbye as I boarded the bus to school. I […]

A video posted by Tim and Laura (@lightworks360) on Jun 15, 2015 at 10:16am PDT It’s Monday and, as usual, we’re taking our cues from Pepe and DMX. Go out and get ’em, friends.

*what happens when you go two months without seeing your puppy* FRIENDS, we red-eyed out of Portland last night and landed in Chicago at the crack of dawn, looking like a bag lady and her sidekick, stumbling through O’Hare in bleary confusion. One minute we were dancing at a wedding in an Oregon forest, the […]

Happy Memorial Day everybody. We’re so happy to have been born here. Gratitude to all the folks who have given their lives to assure that folks like us can follow our dreams.   A video posted by Tim and Laura (@lightworks360) on May 25, 2015 at 9:48am PDT

We’re excited, we’re relaxed, and we are READY to PARTY. A video posted by Tim and Laura (@lightworks360) on May 18, 2015 at 4:00pm PDT There are times in life when you gotta start from scratch: baking cakes, learning calculus, and creating a blog that’s marginally legitimate. Lightworks360 turns 1 year old this month, and […]

Ugh. Instagram captions. What the hell?

I've spent countless moments of my life staring at a blank instagram caption box. Try something - delete it. Put a quote in there - delete it. But I had a secret weapon... I'd just hand the phone to my wife. She's is a witty and wise firestorm of a woman and I love her for it. Apparently, so does instagram. Her irreverent, meandering, and poignant-as-hell captions have created a sense of community in our lives so that everywhere we travel, there’s usually someone willing to show us around (not to mention insta alone has literally put thousands of dollars in our bank account). So I made her sit down and explain what goes through her curly little head whenever her thumbs click away at her phone keyboard. Put your email below for her free guide on how to write insta captions that people actually care about.
