Ahmagah you guys, it’s been three weeks since we peeked our little heads up into the blog and shared some of the good shit we’ve been working on! We’ve been in Europe and Morocco for the last two weeks, getting our heads together after this year. 40 weddings, 50 engagements, a little commercial work here […]

Oh, this old thing? It’s just a five minute photoshoot with Sarah and Tyson, in between our annual Bastille Day traditions of overeating French food and singing the Marsellaise too loudly after a bottle or two of wine. These guys are the most inspiring humans we’ve ever met. If I could bottle up their exhales […]

Muggy evenings in Chicago. Cold drinks in the dining room. A love story that keeps unfolding to us as we learn about how Oriane (this beautiful, ethereal creature) and her gentle fiance Chris (the kind-eyed man who will do whatever it takes to make her happy) aren’t just the dreamy couple with the gorgeous condo […]

Sometimes we show up for a wedding at a distant Texas ranch, thunder rolling in the distance, and don’t know a soul. And something about the energy as we drive up feels… right. Like things are going to happen just the way they would in your dreams. And thanks to the couple being incredible and down […]

Guess what! Whit and Raz are havin’ a bébé! And since none of us go in for cheesy maternity photos (I mean seriously people are still making hearts out of their hands over a baby belly? Count us… out for that one), the four of us trekked to Greenlake on an empty, downpouring Sunday to […]

It’s these little no-reason shoots that always feel so genuine– no need to pose or find props or do anything that doesn’t feel 100% like you. Find a space that feels real chill and true to who you are, the rest will all fall into place. Our dear friends Sarah and Tyson, with a love that looks […]

If you’ve never experienced the unique joy of playing a game of “Perfect Guy BUT” with a car full of hilarious people, here’s how it usually goes down: “He’s the perfect guy, but he has a room in his home fully dedicated to porcelain dolls.” -“Not a dealbreaker, because what if his grandmother’s dying wish was for […]

Over the winter, we did a lot of Skyping new couples while we sweated it out in Thailand. We’d be chatting happily with strangers, meeting for the first time online– and hoping they wouldn’t notice that we were in our underwear from the waist down and that my mascara had long since melted off. It was […]

“My grandma got married in this Chinese wedding outfit, and my mom wore it in her reception. I’d like to honor that and wear it in my ceremony, too!” Thus began Susan’s laid-back priority list for her wedding day: be good to her family, break it down with her best friends… oh, and marry dat cutie Shane. […]

There’s an old prison across the street from where we lived in Chiang Mai, abandoned and letting nature take its course. Local artists tiptoe in to leave their mark, Thai jungle bugs make themselves at home, local police occasionally show up with the gleam of bribes in their eye… We call that a perfect free […]

My best friend Marlo is the girl you can call and say “let’s quit our jobs and buy one-way plane tickets for South America” and the next thing you know, you wake up in Buenos Aires to your besty taking close-up portraits of dead cockroaches. The person who will show up to a stranger’s party with mini-shot bottles […]

We’re back on American soil, our minds bursting at the seams with all the creativity and beauty Asia had to offer us in all categories. From coffee shops to toilets, there isn’t a single item that we weren’t inspired to see differently and more inventively than before we left. Which is the exact strategy that Lia […]

Ugh. Instagram captions. What the hell?

I've spent countless moments of my life staring at a blank instagram caption box. Try something - delete it. Put a quote in there - delete it. But I had a secret weapon... I'd just hand the phone to my wife. She's is a witty and wise firestorm of a woman and I love her for it. Apparently, so does instagram. Her irreverent, meandering, and poignant-as-hell captions have created a sense of community in our lives so that everywhere we travel, there’s usually someone willing to show us around (not to mention insta alone has literally put thousands of dollars in our bank account). So I made her sit down and explain what goes through her curly little head whenever her thumbs click away at her phone keyboard. Put your email below for her free guide on how to write insta captions that people actually care about.
